Pamela

I quit reading this garbage about halfway through. The same logic would not be presented if I decided to take my 12" cast iron skillet and crush the abusers skull to protect myself, would it??????

As a former victim of domestic violence, do you know what that interview said to me?

It's not that bad...Just SUCK IT UP!

Dr. Carolyn West

Respectfully, if you had read the entire interview you might have noticed that I also said:

"We get too invested in protecting the wrong people. Like high-profile people in our community, like R. Kelly – people who allegedly sexually victimize young girls. We’re so busy trying to create this united front, and end up defending people who should not be defended. Closing ranks and protecting the wrong people doesn’t serve our community in the long haul."

So I am no way giving BM a pass to battered and brutalize BW.

Secondly, yesterday, today, and tomorrow women will lose their lives to domestic violence. Many of them will be Black. Instead of attacking each other, I pray that we support each other and break the silence. Peace to you in 2009 and beyond.

Here are some helpful numbers for victims:
National Domestic Violence Hotline
1-800-799-SAFE (7233)

Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network (RAINN)
www.rainn.org for 24/7 online hotline.
