Thanks CT for this upcoming movie link to: "THE VISITOR" featuring a Sengalese woman and a white-skinned Arab man. There are many people who would not consider this an IR movie because the male is an Arab and actually there are many "black" men who are "whiter" in appearance than this man. I dunno.
This is why I encourage any person to date or marry based on----QUALITY--period. Discriminating on the basis of skin shade--whether "white-skinned" or "black-skinned" is RACIST. The whole system of racism was and continues to be based on the "claimed" inferiority of darker people and the superiority of lighter people, so when any person of any "race" discriminates on the basis of skin shade, s/he is upholding and promoting the philosophy and practice of racism.

I actually went on amazon.com to buy this movie. If you're into getting a 'feel of other cultures', then you should definitely get the movie. It's a beautiful thing when people from different backgrounds and cultures live under one roof like 'family'.

I really enjoyed this movie. The female actress is so beautiful with her dark skin, African features, and short cropped hair. The way in which her boyfriend cared for her and tried to protect her was great to see as well. The story itself made me cry as I thought of all the undocumented folk being mistreated....it was really interesting how the INS workers were mainly African-American....to me it showed how we have maybe finally achieved "insider" status in American society at the expense of the "possible terrorist" outsiders...

This movie was touching and sad. Tarek's passion for music and love for his woman is something that many will never find. Not me I hope! lol I would have loved to see more interaction between Tarek and Zainab, but I understand that their relationship wasn't the main story. VERY engaging, I'd recommend it to everyone.

I saw a commercial for this a few days ago and didn't even realize it had an IR element to it

I bought this movie on Amazon 2 weeks ago, and I really enjoyed it. I notice that the white male lead has been nominated for an Oscar. This is a great story.
